Fasting & Abstinence
Lent invites us to turn away from our natural inclinations and selfish desires. -Ash Wednesday and all the Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence from meat. Catholics can still eat eggs, fish, shellfish, and dairy products. -Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are also fast days, meaning only one meal may be eaten. A little bit of food is allowed in the morning and the evening if it is necessary to keep up your strength. -These are things that we as a Catholic family do together.
